Artificial Intelligence Engineer

AI Engineer | DAX 40 Company | GenAI & LLMs | Düsseldorf (Hybrid)

AI Futures have been exclusively retained to appoint an AI Engineer for a leading DAX 40 company based in Düsseldorf. This is a hands-on technical role with a strong consultative element; working across internal teams and external stakeholders to design and deliver GenAI-powered solutions.

The focus will be on Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI-driven automation tools. You'll contribute to both the technical build and early-stage solution design across a variety of use cases.

Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite in Düsseldorf

Remuneration: Up to €120k total package

The Role

• Design and implement GenAI applications with a focus on LLMs, NLP, and automation
• Translate business and operational challenges into scalable AI use cases with measurable outcomes
• Build data pipelines, proof-of-concept models, and production-ready tools using Python and modern ML frameworks
• Support presales and consultative activities, including stakeholder workshops and solution scoping
• Evaluate and integrate third-party AI platforms and open-source tools
• Contribute to MLOps workflows to ensure continuous improvement and deployment-readiness

The Candidate

• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or applied data science roles
• Strong understanding of GenAI and LLM frameworks (e.g. transformers, embeddings, RAG)
• Proficient in Python and libraries such as Hugging Face, LangChain, or scikit-learn
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams
• Fluent in German (English an advantage)
• Confident engaging with internal stakeholders and contributing to solution design
