DevOps Engineer

hlpy, born in 2020, is a tech-driven roadside assistance insurance start-up founded by visionaries who saw a gap in the market and redefined the industry with a cutting-edge digital solution.

What started as a bold idea in Italy quickly expanded to France, Spain and Germany.

Tech is our bread and Mario, our DevOps Manager, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their team as hlpy grow.

This role is based in Milan, Italy, where we’ll expect to see you often, however we are open to you working remotely regularly. We like to think that we're pretty good at offering a job that fits nicely into a fulfilled life for everyone.

You will be responsible for:

- Continuous improvements to the observability of systems including, logging, monitoring and alerting

- Identify complex areas of infrastructure and code that require refactoring and technical debt and ensure these are addressed as appropriate

- Incident management, problem resolution, blameless postmortems and root cause analysis

- Management of network architecture

- Management, configuration, and automation of security platforms

- Design and build infrastructure solutions to support existing and emerging products

- Develop guidelines and support documentation

- Ensure solutions delivered are fit for purpose, meet security, risk and audit requirements, meet stakeholder expectations and do not cause high severity outages

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Must have

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a network security/reliability role, having developed a strong grasp of networking, security, and reliability fundamentals

- You have strong experience and knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure

- You have experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Cloudformation, ARM Templates and/or Cloud Development Manager

- Experience and a fundamental understanding of CI/CD practices, as well as Agile methodologies and practices

- You speak and write English fluently, you will be working with international teams

Nice to have

- You’ve previously worked in a startup/scaleup environment

- Experience in operationally supporting cloud native microservices

- Experience with Datadog and OpsGenie

- Experience with Kubernetes

- Experience with Keycloak

- Exposure to high volume Python applications

- You speak and write Italian

Soft skills

- You are data-driven and organised, you like things to run like a machine

- You have excellent communication skills (verbal and written): you are able to break down complex topics into simple solutions and ideas

- You’re a self-starter, autonomous & proactive: we’re looking for someone who will go and get things done, not wait for instructions

Salary Range: 40K - 45k
