Job Title: Junior Cloud Engineer

Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Possible Extensions)

Location: Luxembourg, Luxembourg (Onsite)


Role Overview:

  • We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer to help modernize our infrastructure through containerization, automation, and cloud-native technologies.
  • You'll work with Kubernetes, AWS, and CI/CD tools to migrate legacy systems, improve reliability, and build a fully automated delivery pipeline.
  • This role demands hands-on engineering, strong collaboration, and 24/7 support readiness in a fast-paced, cloud-focused environment.


Key Accountabilities:

  • The Cloud Engineer is an adopter of virtualization, containers, and cloud infrastructure.
  • You should love to automate everything that needs to be done more than once and will oversee migrating products using container technology, such as Kubernetes, and provisioning platforms, such as vRealize Automation.
  • Your scope will also encompass the reverse engineering of the legacy architecture and key flows, including an understanding of its key weaknesses and readiness in areas such as security, reliability, simplicity, performance, operational agility, and automation.
  • Design out the weaknesses, work hand in hand with the technical architects and operational teams.
  • The final goal is to participate in the transformation of the Data Center into a full Continuous Delivery pipeline with fully automated build/deploy/monitoring/resiliency processes in a fully consolidated environment with no unknown remaining legacy issues in terms of security, reliability, performance, and operational agility.


Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts.
  • One of the programming/scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Bash).
  • Experience in Kubernetes architecture and Software engineering.
  • Strong experience with a container provisioning platform such as Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience in AWS.
  • Knowledge of computer networking and virtualization.
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Argo CD, Artefect store (nexus), and API gateway.
  • Knowledge of Kafka and GitLab.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • Ability to work and communicate in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally clearly and concisely.
  • Initiative, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Promote and follow prescribed project management guidelines for projects.
  • Maintain documentation for all operational / support processes for the systems supported; automate repetitive processes where appropriate.
  • Handle tickets within the defined SLA.
  • Be ready to handle on-call support in a 24/7 manner and shift mode 7-20.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience deploying and operating on public and private cloud frameworks.
  • Experience in Kubernetes, AWS.
  • Familiarity with service design in the context of cloud-based solutions.
  • Stay current with new technologies and techniques as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes.
  • Kubernetes certification is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in any other European language is a plus.
