We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to help design, implement, and support a cloud-based building management platform. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with other teams to deliver robust, automated cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate is experienced in infrastructure and platform engineering, application deployment automation, and containerized environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support production workloads, including participation in on-call rotations and after-hours troubleshooting as needed.
  • Design and deploy scalable, secure, fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
  • Develop and manage infrastructure using AWS and CI/CD tools, including Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Build and integrate Dockerized application components with infrastructure and supporting services.
  • Operate effectively within an agile team environment, fostering collaboration and shared ownership.
  • Investigate and resolve issues through log analysis, data inspection, and code review.


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be available to work standard business hours within a European time zone.
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of AWS services such as ECS, EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, VPC, Route 53, ELB, IAM, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, SQS, SES, Lambda, Secrets Manager, API Gateway, KMS, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, ECR, Cognito, Cloud Map, DynamoDB, and IoT Core.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems, containerization, and core networking concepts.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Skilled in deploying applications using automated deployment pipelines and tools like CodeDeploy.
  • Familiar with DevOps practices and tooling; capable of applying automation and reliability engineering principles.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices in AWS, especially within multi-account environments.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing and deploying secure, scalable cloud-native infrastructure on AWS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for tackling complex challenges.


Evaluation Criteria:

Candidates will be assessed based on the following:

  • Depth of experience with cloud infrastructure (especially AWS).
  • Understanding of networking (e.g., VPC routing) versus DNS services (e.g., Route 53).
  • Familiarity with serverless AWS components.
  • Knowledge of web hosting architectures using services like S3 and CloudFront.
  • Relevant AWS certifications are highly valued.


Nice to Have:

  • AWS certifications
  • Advanced experience with Docker, Nginx, SSH, and PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript
  • Background in software development with a transition into cloud infrastructure, or a hybrid experience in both
  • Experience using AWS SDKs and CLI tools
  • Familiarity with managing microservices and distributed architectures
