Software Engineer – Full Stack (Trading & Research Systems)

Venture Search has partnered with a leading global proprietary trading firm based in Dublin, that are seeing experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain sophisticated applications that directly support trading and research operations. In this role, you’ll work closely with front-office professionals to deliver high-performance, scalable systems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications supporting trading and quantitative research workflows.
• Develop scalable and high-throughput systems using modern object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Java.
• Integrate with distributed systems and event-driven architectures, leveraging technologies like Kafka.
• Contribute across the stack, from backend services to modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular).
• Optimize multi-threaded, latency-sensitive applications for performance and reliability.
• Engage with traders, quants, and other stakeholders to understand needs and build tailored technical solutions.
• Own the software development lifecycle—from architecture and design through deployment and ongoing support.
• Ensure the reliability, maintainability, and performance of critical production systems.
• Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with strong object-oriented programming fundamentals.
• Proficiency in C#, Java, or similar modern languages.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, messaging frameworks (e.g., Kafka), and concurrent programming.
• Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
• Background working in front-office or client-facing environments, preferably within financial services.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with UI development using Angular, WPF, or similar frameworks.
• Exposure to Complex Event Processing (CEP) systems.
• Experience with high-performance or low-latency architectures.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern scalable infrastructure design.
