Join our client team as a Data Specialist
Be a key contributor to the Global Risk Analytics Data Environment (GRADE) platform within our client's Data Management and Analytics team. This role is central to supporting analytical projects, with our data directly underpinning the bank's Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) model development, validation, and monitoring. You'll manage the full lifecycle of risk data, from ingestion and quality assurance to visualization. Responsibilities extend to WCR peer benchmarking, GRADE platform security, capacity management, user support, onboarding, and change initiatives. Collaboration with global teams on both BAU activities and strategic projects is integral to this role.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Data Validation: Collating, testing, and verifying independently sourced data for robustness.
- System Knowledge: Learning and understanding source system data, models, and standards.
- Requirements & DQ: Translating data needs from modeling teams, addressing data quality issues, and ensuring data governance and compliance.
- ETL Development: Building ETL pipelines to make data assets available on GRADE.
- Architectural Input: Contributing to data, application, and business process architecture roadmaps.
- Stakeholder Communication: Preparing effective materials for business stakeholders.
- Relationship Management: Effectively managing relationships across key functional teams.
- Prioritization: Working with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Process Improvement: Driving opportunities for process enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in a similar role.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in IT or a numerate subject (Master's preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one of SAS, Python, PySpark, SQL, or Hadoop Big Data; Prophecy experience is a plus.
- Business Analysis: Strong skills in requirements gathering and specification.
- Data Architecture: Ability to comprehend complex data architectures.
- Core Competencies: Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Work Ethic: Multitasking ability and capacity to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Tools: Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Monday.com.
- Interpersonal: Effective communication and flexibility for international team collaboration.
- Advantageous: Previous IT/Analytics experience and knowledge of banking risk data, systems, and models.
