Job Description:

Honda is seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join our growing connected vehicle technology team in Ohio. This role involves leading the development of cutting-edge Android applications that integrate with automotive systems and enhance the user experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Implement cross-platform features using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) for shared business logic.
• Develop and maintain Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication with embedded automotive systems.
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to support OTA (Over-the-Air) updates.
• Utilize JIRA for agile task management and project tracking.
• Maintain clean, scalable code and manage version control with Git and GitHub.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Follow best practices for software development, testing, and deployment in an automotive-grade environment.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and help mentor junior developers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android SDK.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and cross-platform architecture.
• Hands-on experience with BLE protocol and hardware integration.
• Familiarity with OTA implementation and embedded communication protocols.
• Proficient with Git, GitHub, and JIRA in collaborative development environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
