JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Specialist will support the day-to-day administration of employee benefits and human resources of El Super, Fiesta Mart and Smart & Final stores, while providing an excellent level of customer service and administrative support. Other duties as assigned. The Human Resources Specialist will report to the Group Vice President, Human Resources.
Onsite: Candidates must be able to report onsite 5 days per week to our Store Support Center, located at 600 Citadel Drive, Commerce, CA 90040.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Assist Group Vice President, Human Resources, with day-to-day tasks such as the administration of employee compensation, legal compliance, complaint reporting and investigations, leaves of absence, talent acquisition, HRIS, and benefits. Ensure compliance with company employee personnel policies in the assigned area and assist with compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- 1-2 years of related administrative level work experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
- SHRM and/or HRCI certification preferred
SKILLS:
- Fluent bilingual communication abilities a plus (English/Spanish)
- Demonstrated presentation skills
- Strong computer proficiency required, including MS Office and Human Resource Information Systems and Talent Management systems.
COMPENSATION: The starting rate is $23.00 per hour. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications, including, experience and relevant skills.
