Lead Quality Assurance Engineer (Automation)

We are currently partnered with a Travel Tech organisation seeking an experienced HANDS-ON QA Lead Engineer to oversee quality assurance processes across our native mobile and web platforms. The ideal candidate will lead our testing strategy, manage the QA team, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead and execute testing strategies for native mobile applications (iOS/Android) and web platforms

● Develop comprehensive test plans for end-to-end testing scenarios across multiple platforms

● Oversee the implementation and maintenance of automated testing frameworks implementation and maintenance

● Configure and manage Lambda Testing environments for cross-browser and cross-device testing

● Conduct test reviews and provide detailed reports on product quality

● Collaborate with development and product teams to establish quality standards

● Identify opportunities for testing process improvements and efficiency gains

● Mentor junior QA engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team

● Participate in agile ceremonies and represent the QA perspective in project planning

Requirements:

● 5-7 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership position

● Strong expertise in testing native mobile applications (iOS/Android) and web applications

● Must be hands-on with testing tools, automation frameworks, and actual test execution

● Proven experience creating and executing end-to-end test plans

● Proficiency with Lambda Testing or similar cross-browser/cross-device testing platforms

● Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (such as Appium, Selenium, Cypress, XCTest)

● Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests

● Experience with performance testing, security testing, and accessibility testing

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

● Excellent communication and team management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

● ISTQB certification or equivalent

● Experience with mobile app store submission processes

● Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured)

● Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

● Experience with test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr)

● Understanding of cloud infrastructure and testing in cloud environments

● Programming/scripting knowledge (Python, JavaScript, Java)
