Senior DevOps Engineer (GCP)

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with expertise in GCP to join our team.

This role requires a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of cloud financial management, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will work closely with IT, finance, and accounting teams to optimize cloud spending, ensure cost transparency, and support strategic financial planning for cloud operations.

Responsibilities

Manage and improve FinOps platform capabilities to enhance cost visibility, allocation, and reporting for GCP and AWS environments
Conduct in-depth financial analyses of cloud spending, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization
Define and enforce tagging strategies and cost categorization standards to support accurate chargeback processes
Develop cost alerting systems and establish budget thresholds within FinOps tools
Collaborate with Cloud Architects and Engineering teams to align cloud infrastructure usage with financial objectives
Provide cost forecasts and support the budgeting process for business units and application owners
Create and deliver cost reports, dashboards, and KPIs to stakeholders and leadership teams
Contribute to the creation and implementation of cloud financial governance policies and cost control measures
Participate in Agile ceremonies and work with cross-functional teams to prioritize and execute FinOps initiatives

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, with a focus on GCP or AWS environments
Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience integrating financial systems with cloud platforms
Proven experience with FinOps practices and tools such as CloudHealth, Cloudability, Apptio, or native GCP/AWS cost management tools
Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and pricing models
Hands-on experience with cost modeling, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and cloud financial governance practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable recommendations
Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, at a B2 level or higher

Nice to have

Google Cloud or AWS certification to demonstrate advanced knowledge of cloud platforms and best practices
