Wolt’s Global Merchant team is responsible for ensuring we offer a best-in-class selection of restaurants and stores, while building products and services that help our merchants grow profitably on the platform. We work closely with local commercial teams across +30 countries and focus on driving merchant strategy, improving operations, enabling sales, optimizing the merchant experience, and supporting global partnerships—all to strengthen our overall merchant ecosystem. This role plays a key part in supporting those efforts through the launch and scale of a new in-store product for our merchants.

About The Role

We are looking for a Strategy and Operations Manager to join our team as a key player in the development and successful rollout of Wolt’s POS product. This is a highly cross-functional and generalist role, ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguous environments, combines analytical and strategic thinking, and loves executing high-impact projects.

You will work closely with product, engineering, sales, support, marketing, and merchant teams to shape go-to-market strategies, optimize operations, and drive adoption across markets.

What You Will Be Doing

🚀 Strategy & Planning

• Develop and refine the product rollout strategy in close collaboration with the relevant product teams and senior leadership.
• Conduct competitive and market analyses to inform product positioning and country-level expansion plans.
• Support business case development and pricing strategy based on merchant needs and market dynamics.
  
  

⚙️ Operations & Execution

• Own end-to-end project management for market launches, as well as day-day operations and weekly/monthly business plans, including internal coordination and stakeholder alignment.
• Create scalable playbooks and frameworks for onboarding, training, support, and deployment, adoption, and success of the products we build.
• Identify and solve bottlenecks during rollout – from logistics to merchant success.
  
  

🤝 Cross-functional Collaboration

• Act as a central liaison between product, engineering, local operations, and commercial teams.
• Support field teams in pilot setups, merchant onboarding, and feedback loops to improve the product.
• Partner with analytics to define KPIs, dashboards, and reporting for tracking rollout success and adoption.
  
  

📈 Continuous Improvement

• Gather and synthesize feedback from merchants and internal teams to iterate on processes and inform the product roadmap.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve quality, speed, and cost of merchant deployments.
• Stay on top of industry trends, technology, and regulatory shifts to inform strategy.
  
  

Our humble expectations

• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects independently. This is a startup team within Wolt, therefore exceptional ownership, strong bias for action, and rapid turnaround is a must.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience working with data to inform decisions.
• Clear communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Self-starter with high ownership, bias to action, and comfort in ambiguity.
• Experience in tech, SaaS, retail, or restaurant operations systems is a plus, but not required.
• You have 6+ years work experience in consulting, investment banking, operations, technology, startups, or related experiences. A combination of 2 or more of these experiences is a plus.
• You communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal comms.
