About the Role 

We are looking for a talented and mission-driven AI/Data Scientist to join our team at Machnet Medical Robotics. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI solutions for real-time image-guided medical applications. You will work hands-on with clinical data and build robust machine learning pipelines integrated with our robotic system. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design and deploy deep learning algorithms for real-time medical applications 
  • Evaluate and optimise deep learning models, identifying areas for improvement 
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in AI and related fields. Up to date knowledge of AI/ML state of the art, including scientific literature, tools, models, best practices  
  • Support the deployment of deep learning solutions in line with engineering standard and best practices (version control, testing, maintenance, code review) 
  • Manage the whole lifecycle DS/ML models, monitoring, gathering data, and updates 
  • Ensure model performance, and regulatory compliance for clinical deployment 
  • Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance in all aspects of model development and deployment 
  • Document software designs, code, and processes, ensuring clear and concise technical specifications and documentation 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, electrical and mechanical engineers, and product managers, to ensure seamless integration of our robotic systems into larger software systems 
  • Follow the medical device software development process (ISO 62304 compliance) 


What we are looking for: 

  • 1–3 years of experience in applied deep learning methods, preferably in medical devices or healthcare AI 
  • Proficiency with databases (SQL/NoSQL), data versioning, and source control (Git/GitHub 
  • Master’s or equivalent in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline 
  • Experience and strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, mathematical modelling, and industrial applications of AI 
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team 
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks and clinical data standards 
  • Strong Python programming and data engineering skills 
  • Familiarity with healthcare data privacy (GDPR, HIPAA) and regulatory best practices 
  • Good experience in software development, ideally for deployed products, open-source projects, or large codebase. 
  • Proficiency in Python, leading ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX), and libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn) 
  • Ability to write well-documented, reusable, and maintainable code 
  • Experience deploying AI solutions into production environments with focus on scalability, reliability, and integration 


Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience in the medical device industry is a plus 
  • Experience contributing to CE/FDA-compliant systems 
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming language 
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools
