🔹Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join our technology team, focusing on delivering software solutions for Prime Services and Stock Loan and Borrowing (SLAB) businesses within our partner’s Global Markets (GM) IT division.

As part of a London-based team, you will collaborate with colleagues globally, designing and developing software products that support Prime Brokerage and SLAB business functions, with a focus on modern Java development and microservices architecture.

In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing business workflows, designing robust software solutions, and producing secure, efficient, and scalable systems. You will also ensure that software quality, automation, and high development standards are central to the team’s practices. Strong communication, leadership, and the ability to work in a flexible hybrid environment are essential for success in this position.

🔹Key Responsibilities

• Develop Java software components using modern development practices, including microservices, Scrum, and automation.
• Design and build secure RESTful APIs.
• Lead messaging system implementations (Kafka, JMS).
• Collaborate with global teams to present and defend technical solutions.
• Extend and improve test automation with tools like Junit and Mockito.
• Ensure system performance, scalability, and quality are central to every development phase.
• Manage project risks, blockers, and deadlines efficiently.
• Engage with the wider developer community to adopt and validate best practices.

🔹Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in Java 11+, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
• Expertise in containerization technologies: Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with OO design, Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Familiarity with Oracle Database, Linux, JMS, Jenkins, and IntelliJ.
• Secure REST interface design and automated testing.

🔹Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of the Prime Brokerage or Stock Loan and Borrowing (SLAB) business is a plus (can be acquired on the job).
• Experience with Webpackaging stack.
