The role

Full Stack Engineer - AI Platform (Mid to Senior Level)

You'll be joining at a pivotal moment as we scale from startup to established player. While our current team excels at rapid feature development, we need someone who takes equal pride in platform stability, code quality, and system integration. This role offers genuine technical leadership opportunities, and you will be working in a truly world class environment.

What you'll do:

Champion Platform Quality & Technical Excellence

• Build and optimize AI-powered features that directly impact 300+ customers
• Architect scalable solutions that maintain performance as they 5x their user base
• Implement robust testing and security frameworks while keeping their rapid deployment culture

Platform Integration & Architecture

• Lead technical integration between web platform and mobile applications
• Design and implement secure, scalable API endpoints
• Create cohesive user experiences across multiple touch points

Modern Development Practices

• Establish best practices for AI-assisted development tools
• Support both technical and non-technical team members in leveraging modern tools
• Balance traditional engineering excellence with innovative approaches

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong TypeScript experience across full stack applications
• Solid AWS knowledge for cloud infrastructure
• Proficiency with React and/or Next.js

Beyond the essentials, they're looking for someone with 4-8 years building web applications who genuinely enjoys backend work (this role leans ~75% backend). If you've used AI development tools like Cursor or Copilot, even better: their team embraces modern development practices.

The Ideal Candidate

• Takes genuine satisfaction from improving existing systems, not just building new features
• Thrives in flat, collaborative structures without formal hierarchy
• Embraces AI tools while maintaining healthy skepticism about code quality
• Detail-oriented with patience for complex debugging and system integration
• Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environment

Highly regarded experience:

• React Native or mobile development experience
• FinTech or regulated industry background
• DevOps and infrastructure expertise
• Previous tech lead or mentoring experience
• Startup experience

Location & Working Arrangements

Location: Sunshine Coast, Queensland

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days flexible)

Note: This role requires local presence: they're looking for candidates already based on the Sunshine Coast or willing to relocate
