Technical Support Engineer

We’re recruiting on behalf of Deutsche Bank, for a Technical Support Engineer role in their Bucharest technology center. This is a hands-on position focused on supporting live applications running on Unix/Linux and Oracle, with an emphasis on incident resolution, stability, and collaboration with global teams.

If you’ve worked in production environments, know your way around the Unix shell, can troubleshoot issues using SQL, and understand ITIL flows, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for live internal applications across distributed environments
• Investigate incidents directly on Unix/Linux systems, perform log analysis
• Use SQL for data validation and root cause investigation in Oracle
• Monitor scheduled jobs via Control-M, Autosys, or similar tools
• Follow ITIL processes (incident, problem, change)
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams
• Maintain clear documentation of procedures and resolutions

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience in production or application support
• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux (commands, logs, file systems)
• Basic scripting skills (Shell, Bash, or similar)
• Proficient in SQL (joins, group by, filtering etc.)
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and tools like ServiceNow or BMC Remedy

Nice to Have

• Experience with Geneos, Splunk, Grafana, or Prometheus
• Familiarity with job scheduling tools: Control-M, Autosys
• Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS)
• Understanding of SRE principles
• ITIL certification
