AI Software Engineer (Java/Python)

Fujitsu is seeking a highly skilled AI Software Engineer to join an exciting project within the EU Institutions in Brussels. This role combines solid backend development skills with hands-on AI engineering, contributing to cutting-edge projects involving LLM architectures, chatbots, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.

🔧 Key Responsibilities & Expertise

• Design, develop, and integrate scalable software solutions using Java and Python
• Build AI-powered applications: chatbots, LLM interfaces, and RAG pipelines
• Manage data using both relational and NoSQL databases (including vector stores)
• Work with messaging systems and ensure robust system integration
• Apply AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or equivalent
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic EU public sector environment

✅ Must-Have Skills

• Master’s degree in Computer Science
• 5–10 years’ experience in software development and integration
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and database management
• Strong understanding of AI concepts and LLM architectures
• Experience in AI tooling and building conversational agents

🌟 Nice-to-Have / Preferred

• Experience with Spring, Drupal, Haystack, or LangChain
• Exposure to NoSQL datastores (especially for vector embeddings)
• AI certifications from recognized institutions
