Role Purpose(s)
Support projects and Day2 maintenance for Window and Linux based systems
Key Accountabilities
- To be able to independently perform in-depth administration of Linux operating system or Windows operating system and in Virtualisation platform in troubleshooting, and system logs analysing.
- To Perform assessment and security vulnerabilities related to Linux OS or Windows OS.
- To be able to standby and support after office hours or weekends when there is unplanned activity or incident ensuring operations run smoothly 24/7.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- The candidate will be a member of the Enterprise Systems Infrastructure team that manages Servers and Enterprise systems.
- His/her responsibilities include the following:
- System Management, Administration, Compliance and Support
- Proactively manage and maintain Systems and services to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime in accordance with SLA.
- Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments and contingency plans.
- Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments in accordance to compliance policies.
- Fault diagnosis, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
- Proactively monitor system performance.
- Review or propose remediation solutions to address vulnerabilities identified and ensure the solutions are implemented in accordance to organizational policies.
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
- Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on infrastructure managed.
- Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance as part of the rotational duty support team.
- Maintain proper documentation according to organizational policies and practices.
- Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
- Support audit and compliance activities.
- Generate periodic reports according to organization practices.
- Perform change and release management activities according to organization practices.
- Coordinate / Perform Level 1,2 and 3 support and service provisioning requests.
- Liaise with vendors, internal stakeholders and/or customers to identify troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Support other IT related activities when required.
- Working outside of office hours will be required on occasion due to the nature of the job. PSA will not be charged for services done outside of office hours. Following the activity, the candidate must reach an agreement with the supervisor on an off-in-lieu arrangement.

Education Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or IT related discipline
- Relevant IT certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, VMware admin, Nutanix admin or similar are preferred
Working Experience Requirements
- Possess at least 3 years of relevant Server Administration experience in both Windows and Linux
- Possess Strong knowledge of IT systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Possess experience in scripting (e.g. Linux Bash shell, Windows PowerShell)
- Possess experience in project management and able to provide good support to Project Managers
- Experience with the following technologies will be advantage:
- Virtualization technologies - VMware ESXi/VCF, Microsoft Hyper-V
- Hyperconverged Infrastructure - Nutanix
Skills Required
Must-have skills
- Unix/Linux System Admin, Windows System Admin
- PowerShell/Bash scripting
Preferable skills
- Virtualization Technology (MS Hyper-V, VMware Exsi/ VCF)
- HCI Platform (Nutanix or VxRail)
