Software Engineer (Remote, but must be based East Coast of Australia)
Hey, we're Lumonus! We're transforming the future of cancer care through advanced technology and AI-driven solutions. As a health tech innovator, we’re reshaping radiation oncology by creating software products that empower physicians and dosimetry professionals globally, directly enhancing patient outcomes and care quality.
We’re looking for a mid-level software engineer who’s confident with React, cares about great user experience, and wants to work on meaningful products that make a real-world impact.
This is a full-stack position with a strong focus on frontend development across our web and mobile apps (React and React Native). While you'll spend most of your time working on user-facing features, you’ll also contribute to our backend systems built with Python and Django. We're looking for someone who brings solid frontend experience and is comfortable taking on backend tasks when needed or eager to learn. You don’t need to know everything on day one, but you should be resourceful, curious, and confident navigating both sides of the stack.
We’re growing quickly, fuelled by passionate people who want to make a genuine difference. If you're driven by seeing your software actively improve healthcare, this role offers a rare opportunity to shape vital innovations in oncology.
What you’ll do:
- Build and maintain user-facing features using React
- Contribute to mobile features using React Native
- Contribute to backend server features using Django
- Contribute to UI components, frontend patterns, and design systems
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teammates to deliver usable, valuable features
- Help test and maintain a high-quality codebase with appropriate test coverage
What we’re looking for:
- 3–5 years of experience building and testing web applications
- Minimum 3 years of professional React experience (must-have)
- Preferred 1 years of professional Python/Django experience (nice-to-have)
- A user-first mindset and a desire to build software that solves real problems
- Willingness to contribute to all parts of the tech stack and learn as you go
- A collaborative, curious approach to working in a cross-functional team
Tech Stack
- Frontend: React, React Native (mobile)
- Backend: Django, PostgreSQL, Redis
- Infrastructure: AWS (managed via Terraform), CI/CD with GitHub Actions
Why Lumonus?
- Remote-First Flexibility: Work from home (East Coast Australia) with optional office days in our North Sydney HQ.
- Meaningful Impact: Your work directly helps advance cancer treatment, benefiting physicians and patients worldwide.
- Continuous Learning: Engage regularly with tech guilds, reading groups, and hackathons.
- Supportive Culture: No egos, just collaboration, mutual respect, and genuine team spirit.
- Work-Life Balance: A flexible, understanding approach to life's daily demands.
- Expected Salary: $120k - $135k + super
This is a great opportunity for a frontend engineer who wants to deepen their skills, learn backend systems, and work on products that truly matter.
