The role of the Principal Advisor, Learning Management Systems (LMS) will assist and support the Manager to scope, implement, manage and update the department’s learning management system and manage the links to other Human Resource Information Systems such as payroll, Employee Self Service and Workforce Reporting.
The Principal Advisor should high-level knowledge and experience in the use of contemporary learning management systems, including identifying technology trends, interpreting data and creating reports, enhancing end-user experiences and leading and supporting significant systems change and continuous improvement.

As a Principal Advisor You Will
- Foster and support key stakeholder relationships that ensure the security and viability of the department's learning management system. These relationships include Information Security, the software vendor and significant client users' groups.
- Plan for future learning and development system needs of the department and provide high level advice on the usability of such systems.
- Develop project management and implementation plans to facilitate the continued introduction of the LMS as a key system to support the management of learning and development across the department.
- Lead and encourage a high standard of user support and communication to ensure that the LMS is utilised to its fullest capacity.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to Learning Management staff of varied skill sets.
- Lead, develop and support the team to carry out administrative, operational and reporting tasks.
- Identify opportunities to partner with external government agencies to leverage their learning and development needs off the department's LMS and develop business cases to support new program of works in this space.
- Ensure solution architectures are aligned with the strategic direction of the Department, business areas and whole-of-Government meeting organisational capacity and budget requirements.
- Provide advice on complex business issues relating to change management as a result of the implementation of, or changes to the LMS.
