HIL Test Engineer

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in Vector HIL VT systems - in configuring and using these systems for testing thermal functions — including both functional and system requirements. Experience with tools and protocols such as INCA, XCP, Ethernet, CAN, LIN, etc.
  • Ability to understand and manage test environments involving components such as pumps, valves, coolants, shutters, ECUs, VT Systems, relays etc.,.
  • Strong skills in Python and Pytest for test automation, including scripting and test case development specific to thermal management systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Zuul, Jenkins) and able to support test case integration. Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell and Bash.
  • Familiarity with API testing, mocking tools (such as Snok), and data visualization tools like Victoria.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential for collaborating with the CI team, climate team, and thermal management teams and to work as resident engineer at client location.
  • Flexibility to upskill and adapt to project needs, adjusting to changes in the scope of work and responsibilities in an agile manner.
  • Ability to work on various levels of test environments – Bench HIL, Component HIL, Domain HIL etc.,
  • Familiarity with thermal management systems is highly good to have.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the thermal team to develop a HIL testing strategy that aligns with the objectives of the Thermal Management team.
  • Understand, implement and work with test frameworks, suggesting improvements based on rig limitations and utilizing various tools and technologies such as Docker, Pytest, SNOK, Appium, and other relevant libraries.
  • Support the establishment of a HIL-CI workflow to enable automatic triggering of test jobs.
  • Develop test cases and perform manual testing.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts in Python and Pytest, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Maintain and update HIL testing environments based on the SW, HW and component updates.
  • Work closely with testers, function developers, and other stakeholders, providing necessary support to enable effective use of the HIL testing setup.
  • Build and Lead Offshore Team: Provide technical and non-technical leadership to the offshore team.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for frameworks, tools, and processes to facilitate onboarding and continuous knowledge-sharing.
