Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Product Owner, to join our Data & Analytics team. This role is ideal for a data-savvy professional with a strong background in business analysis, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience with BI and data warehouse platforms. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, developers, and product managers to drive the development of scalable data products and promote a data-driven culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Data Product Support
- Collaborate with sponsors and stakeholders to define scope and data requirements for new initiatives
- Conduct data quality assessments and ensure accurate documentation
- Communicate and deliver training to business users on new data products and features
- Support the continuous evolution of data as a product by gathering and incorporating user feedback
Product Ownership & Agile Delivery
- Act as Product Owner within an Agile Scrum team, prioritizing the backlog to align with business goals
- Write and refine user stories, ensuring clarity and alignment with stakeholder needs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the development team on requirements, priorities, and business rules
- Coordinate and/or facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Lead key Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Craft and execute effective communication plans to inform stakeholders about data product updates, enhancements, and known issues
- Develop strategies to increase the adoption and usage of self-serve documentation and tools
- Translate customer feedback into actionable plans for product improvements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of BI analytics, data concepts, and data warehouse platforms
- Proficient in SQL (mandatory)
- Strong business analysis skills, including:
- Effective communication and active listening
- Critical thinking and problem-solving
- Negotiation and adaptability
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodology (CPO/PSPO or CSM/PSM certification is an asset)
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence (an asset)
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or Power BI is a plus
