Senior DevOps Engineer (Rust) | $180K–$250K + Equity | Berlin/Zurich/New York/San Francisco
We are partnering with a leading, well-funded Web3 infrastructure company specializing in privacy-preserving blockchain technology. This pioneering client is building scalable, zero-knowledge proof-based developer tools and runtime environments. They are seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team and scale internal infrastructure focused on automation, reliability, and security.
In this role, you will work closely with protocol engineers to maintain and enhance Rust-based services and libraries, improve CI/CD pipelines, optimize build processes, and ensure code and infrastructure hygiene. The ideal candidate is crypto-native or highly enthusiastic about blockchain infrastructure, with strong expertise in cloud platforms and DevOps automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Standardize, document, and automate management of Rust-based code repositories and dependencies, ensuring performance, security, and compatibility across key libraries.
- Optimize build times and accelerate test execution to increase developer velocity.
- Monitor security advisories, manage dependency vulnerabilities, and enhance secure coding and infrastructure hygiene processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD pipeline issues, flaky tests, and build failures, improving release reliability.
- Provision, operate, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP, supporting scalable production environments.
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep experience managing cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP.
- Proficiency with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Bash scripting, and Python.
- Strong knowledge of Git workflows and GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Familiarity with Rust ecosystem tools, Cargo workflows, and build optimization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across distributed teams and document processes clearly.
- Solid understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–3 years working with Rust in production environments, ideally managing at least one Rust-based service.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- Familiarity with blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency ecosystem is a strong advantage.
