Network Engineer

Job Opportunity: Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Administrator

Location: Remote (with flexibility to attend Frankfurt office as required)

Contract Duration: Minimum 6 months

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English

We are hiring a seasoned Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. If you have a deep understanding of wireless technologies and network infrastructure, especially with Aruba solutions, this is an ideal opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wireless Configuration and Management:
• Configure, deploy, and manage Aruba Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC).
• Optimize wireless network performance in large-scale enterprise setups.
• Integrate Aruba with existing network components (switches, routers, APs).
• Network Support and Troubleshooting:
• Handle Level 2/3 wireless network incidents.
• Utilize diagnostic tools (AirWave, ClearPass) for root cause analysis.
• Create RF heatmaps for wireless devices and resolve network issues.
• Wireless Network Security and Compliance:
• Implement WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X and collaborate on network compliance.
• Regularly monitor and secure the wireless network infrastructure.
• Design & Optimization:
• Conduct site surveys and plan RF coverage.
• Improve client experience and ensure optimal network performance.
• Upgrades and Maintenance:
• Plan and execute firmware/software upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Documentation & Collaboration:
• Maintain detailed documentation and reports on network performance.
• Collaborate across teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5–7 years of experience with Aruba WLCs and wireless network environments.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, SNMP).
• Hands-on with Aruba tools: ClearPass, AirWave, WLC, and APs.
• Proficient in wireless standards: 802.11ac/ax, WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X.
• Experience in RF planning and wireless optimization.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA) or Professional (ACMP).
• Cisco, CWNP, or other network/wireless certifications.

Bonus Skills:

• Knowledge of network automation (Python, Ansible).
• Experience with Wi-Fi 6, mesh network technologies, and monitoring tools like SolarWinds/PRTG.
