As a junior full-stack software developer, you will play a vital role in designing and managing the application landscape that enables this groundbreaking research. As a junior full-stack software developer, you will be part of the DevOps team and support senior developers in the application development process. The DevOps team at DCCN follows the Scrum methodology.
During the development cycle, you will regularly collaborate with a senior developer in preparing new functionalities.
You will also be assigned your own development tasks for which you will be responsible for the full cycle, including tracking progress and sharing updates during daily stand-up meetings.

The DevOps team at DCCN is responsible for maintaining and developing a unique stack of front- and back-end applications to manage neuroscience research projects that utilise DCCN’s research facilities.
As a small DevOps team, developers are given full opportunity to participate actively in the entire application development process. This offers various opportunities for growth and skill development.
The team manages a wide application landscape, working with diverse tools and programming languages, allowing you to gain valuable experience with various development tools and build your skills at multiple levels. As part of a research organisation, we encourage technical innovation and offer plenty of room for creativity and personal input.

Profile
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
- You are proficient in both Dutch and English.
- You are enthusiastic about software development using open-source tools and solutions.
- You are eager to learn new technologies and programming languages.
- You want to contribute to solving societal challenges in an interdisciplinary context and are not afraid to be idealistic.
- You enjoy collaborating with others in a development team and with users of our products.
- You appreciate personal contact and enjoy working on campus, surrounded by colleagues.
- You are familiar with the Scrum methodology for software development.
- You have experience with Git, CI/CD and container technology.
- Experience with Linux systems and Docker containers.
- Experience developing web applications using JavaScript, React, and ASP.NET.
- Experience with back-end development in Golang, Rust or ExpressJS.
- Experience in deploying software for users and providing support.
- We will give you a temporary employment contract of 1 year.
- Your salary within salary scale 9 depends on your previous education and number of years of (relevant) work experience. The amounts in the scale are based on a 38-hour working week.
- You will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8,3% end-of-year bonus.

- You will receive extra days off. With full-time employment, you can choose between 30 or 41 days of annual leave instead of the statutory 20.
