- Technically manage the design, construction, and procurement process of project concept to delivery.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Project/Practice Management
- Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities to create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Plan and technically coordinate the activities of the technical team during, both pre and post contract, and liaise with the external consultants, contractors, hotel operators (from technical perspective) and any other third party involved on the project to ensure smooth operation of the project.
- Ensure smooth coordination with authorities and government agencies, to obtain statutory approvals and building permits
- Manage day-to-day technical and operational aspects of the project and scope, and review deliverables prepared by team and consultants before passing to client to ensure accuracy and timely completion of the project.
- Prepare for technical engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures to effectively apply company methodology and enforce project standards
- Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately to facilitate timely preparation of project report
- Minimize company exposure and risk on projects.
- Coordinate with a multidisciplinary technical team (cost manager, planners, and engineers) in the following activities:
- Procurement and coordination with consultants for planning and design
- Procurement and coordination with contractors during construction
- Draft and evaluation of tenders and contracts
- Project Deliveries
- Attend site meetings and prepare MOM & reports accordingly
- Manage project budget and ensure that the project is completed within the estimated budget
- Tract and report team hours and expenses on a weekly basis for accurate payment
- This job involves a considerable amount of liaison with contractors, consultants, hotel operators, authorities and government agencies
- The job entails working on both local and international projects that may require some travelling.
- Bachelor or Master (preferred) degree in Architecture or Engineering from an internationally recognized University, or equivalent.
- Additional Staff Management, Project Management Courses is a plus.
- Membership in Industry/Profession related Associations is a plus.
- Min. 15 years’ experience in project management, consultancy or site experience on major building or civil works
- Professional experience in Oman or the Gulf Region is an advantage
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects from inception to completion
- Technical “live” experience of engineering/construction industry practices.
