Senior Backend Developer (with AWS)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer with expertise in AWS to become a vital part of our team.

In this role, you will be tasked with creating, optimizing, and maintaining dependable backend systems for scalable and high-performance applications. By collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will deliver holistic solutions that utilize modern cloud platforms. Responsibilities


  • Deliver scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot as core frameworks
  • Design and build RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems utilizing AWS Lambda and related serverless tools
  • Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform in AWS environments
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using tools such as Docker, GitHub Actions, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk
  • Develop automated testing frameworks for backend services using JUnit, Cucumber, and Selenium
  • Monitor production systems and optimize for reliability and performance using Datadog, Splunk, and New Relic
  • Oversee the lifecycle of backend services, ensuring seamless deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Work alongside product, DevOps, and frontend teams to deliver integrated and effective solutions
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation for informed decision-making


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in backend development using Java or equivalent programming languages
  • Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) alongside familiarity with Node.js or Python
  • Solid background in Terraform for automating and managing AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Hands-on knowledge of Docker and CI/CD tools for deploying scalable cloud-native applications
  • Competency in monitoring tools like Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic to enhance system reliability
  • Proficiency in automated testing frameworks and creating reliable test scripts for backend systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven design principles
  • Capability to manage backend services fully across their lifecycle for performance and stability in production environments
  • Effective debugging and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving backend system challenges
  • Advanced English proficiency (B2 level or higher) with excellent communication skills for teamwork and documentation


Nice to have


  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Ruby or Rust and their integration with legacy systems like AS400
  • Background in frontend frameworks like React or TypeScript to support cross-functional collaboration
  • Understanding of build and configuration tools like Maven or Projen for optimizing project workflows
  • Flexibility to create technical documentation and enhance team onboarding for improved collaboration and shared expertise
