As the EMEA Chemical Manufacturing Project Manager, you’ll be accountable for project management activities, including FEED, detailed design, and construction support for their Supply Chain plants in Belgium, France, and Dubai. You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects up to $5,000,000 and will be an important member of the team, being a single point of accountability for project management and project expertise. You will be the person in the know; the one we go to with questions about current projects, and your input will be a big part of overall project successes.
What does the day-to-day look like?
- Evaluation of third-party chemical suppliers and their processes.
- Managing project costs, schedules, and resources.
- Being responsible for technical competency, environmental requirements, and safety.
- Interacting with plant employees and third-party engineering suppliers to coordinate project activities.
- Coordination of assigned resources for completion of projects to meet timeframes.
- Participating in and supporting the use of Front-End Loading and Detail Design.
- Partnering with internal customers to develop project approval documents, secure funding, support construction, complete project safety start-up reviews, and aid through the startup of projects.
- Conducting technical and commercial bid evaluations.
- Managing vendor scopes of work and package delivery through to commissioning.
- Coordinating project status and technical design reviews with key stakeholders and internal engineering resources to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborating with other divisions such as Maintenance, Reliability, IT, EHS.
Qualifications
What background and skills are you likely to have?
- Solid understanding of chemical manufacturing operations.
- Solid experience managing capital or expense projects in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Ability to support and work across the company to leverage resources and resolve problems.
- Understanding of the Front-End loading (FEL 1-3) requirements.
- Good knowledge of P&IDs, equipment design, and HAZOP reviews.
- Experienced in electrical/instrument designs.
- Able to work with engineering support to create detailed cost estimates and schedules.
- You will be organized, with good strategies for managing successful projects.
- Currently based in Belgium or happy to relocate.
- Happy to travel to plant sites in France and Dubai on a bi-monthly basis.
What is your education likely to be?
- Master’s degree or higher in Engineering field (Chemical, Mechanical preferred)
