Backend PHP Developer – Booking & E-Commerce Systems

Our client is a leading European experience and gifting brand, helping people book unforgettable moments across travel, food, wellness, and adventure. With millions of users across Europe and a strong e-commerce platform, they’re now looking for a Backend PHP Developer to join their team in Dublin.

You’ll work on the tech behind their real-time booking engine, powering connections with hotels, spas, and attractions across the continent. It’s a brilliant role for someone with 2–5 years' experience who loves writing clean code and solving real-world integration challenges.

What you’ll be doing:

• Build and improve backend systems using PHP (Symfony)
• Help manage third-party integrations – think hotels, spas, e-comm tools
• Work on the systems that manage availability, bookings, and search
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and product managers
• Write clean, testable code and take part in code reviews
• Solve real problems, suggest ideas, and keep improving things

What you’ll need:

• 2–5 years' experience in backend development
• Solid PHP (7 or 8), ideally using Symfony or a modern PHP framework
• Experience with booking systems, e-commerce, or 3rd-party APIs
• Comfortable with MySQL, REST APIs, and Git
• Some knowledge of search systems or availability logic is a plus
• Great communicator with a team-first attitude
• A curious mind and a willingness to learn and grow

Bonus points for:

• Experience with RabbitMQ or message queues
• Working with Docker/Kubernetes
• Familiarity with legacy/SOAP integrations
• Understanding of Agile teams and workflows

• Dublin (Hybrid – 3 days at home – 2 days onsite, Wednesday and Thursday)
• €65,000 + Bonus
