Senior Cloud Engineer

Role Description

I'm seeking a seasoned cloud engineer with deep expertise in AWS RDS and a strong foundation in Unix/Linux systems. This is a 6 month initial day rate contracting role with a financial services firm.

Responsibilities & Skills

• Cloud Database Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases within AWS RDS.
• Operating System Proficiency: Solid background in Unix/Linux administration, with proven ability to configure and deploy applications in public cloud ecosystems such as AWS or Azure.
• Multi-language Development: Practical experience building and deploying applications using at least two programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Groovy, Go).
• CI/CD Tooling: Familiarity with modern development platforms and tools including GitHub, Artifactory, X-Ray, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
• Infrastructure Automation: Strong working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code principles, with hands-on experience using Terraform
• Security Integration: Experience implementing software security scanning tools such as SAST or SCA into development workflows.
