Senior Network Engineer

Location: Netherlands (Remote up to 4 days per week)

Salary: Up to €140K including holiday allowance + 13th month + bonus + pension

The Opportunity

We’re working with a high-performance crypto trading platform looking for a Senior Network Engineer to support and scale their low-latency infrastructure. This role is a key hire, replacing an outgoing team member, and is well-suited to engineers with strong experience in routing, switching, and data centre environments.

You’ll be part of a small, senior team responsible for the reliability, performance, and scalability of the production environment that handles billions in trading volume daily.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing and improving the core on-prem network infrastructure
• Supporting hardware deployments including Cisco and Arista
• Configuring and troubleshooting multicast networking (IGMP, PIM)
• Supporting routing protocols including BGP and OSPF
• Handling cabling, rack/stack, patching, and other data centre responsibilities
• Participating in an on-call rotation (1 week in every 3, minimal call frequency)
• Contributing to monitoring and automation initiatives

Essential Experience

• Solid understanding of multicast networking (IGMP, PIM)
• Hands-on experience in a data centre environment
• Knowledge of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF (including OSPF areas, LSAs)
• Practical experience with Cisco and/or Arista gear (e.g. Nexus, MLAG/vPC)
• Familiarity with Spanning Tree (PVST, MST)
• English-speaking

Beneficial Experience

• Background in exchange, trading, or betting infrastructure environments
• Experience working directly at Cisco or Arista (not just via consultancy)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana
• Experience with Fortigate or similar firewalls
• Automation/scripting capabilities (e.g. Python, Ansible)
