What We're Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with proven expertise in building high-volume, high-performance, and highly available payment services solutions. You will be responsible for automating and modernizing CI/CD workflows, deploying applications and updates, identifying production and non-production issues, and supporting development teams in our private cloud environment.

Your success will be measured by improved deployment processes and times, reduction in system alerts, and more efficient resource utilization. Our goal is to scale application traffic without increasing error reports while maintaining or improving error rates, response times, and uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Platform Management

- Design, implement, and maintain private cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

- Leverage Kubernetes for container orchestration and platform enablement

- Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using frameworks such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or cloud-native tools

- Automate deployment processes across development, QA, and production environments

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

- Deploy comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions

- Perform root cause analysis for production incidents

- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues

- Design and implement system troubleshooting and maintenance procedures

Automation & Optimization

- Develop automation scripts to reduce manual tasks and improve operational efficiency

- Build tools to minimize error occurrences and enhance customer experience

- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management

- Create and maintain deployment automation across multiple environments

Collaboration & Support

- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support

- Collaborate with development teams to understand application architecture and operational requirements

- Document solutions and train operational teams on system supportability

- Participate in project planning and management decisions

Required Qualifications and Experience

- 5+ years of DevOps/SRE experience with a Bachelor's degree, or

- 2+ years with an Advanced degree (Masters, MBA, etc.), or

- PhD with relevant experience

Technical Skills

- CI/CD Expertise: Strong theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and build automation using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, GCP Cloud Build, or similar frameworks

- Containerization: Extensive experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration

- Linux Systems: Advanced Linux administration and shell scripting (Bash) skills

- Networking: Strong understanding of networking concepts, load balancing, and high availability architectures

- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar IaC tools

- Private Cloud: Experience with private cloud deployments and hybrid cloud architectures

Core Competencies

- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

- Experience with microservices architecture concepts

- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks

- Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems

- Experience supporting mission-critical production applications (3+ years preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)

- Knowledge of big data processing

- Familiarity with ITIL processes and Agile development methodologies

- Cloud platform experience (any of: AWS, GCP, Azure)

- Programming knowledge (any of: Java, Python, Go)

- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
