About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Developer to join our team on a contract basis outside IR35. The primary focus of this role is to lead the redevelopment of a customer-facing mobile application, utilizing your expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. This is a senior-level position that offers an exciting opportunity to influence the technical direction of the project and contribute to building a modern, efficient, and scalable app from the ground up. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring best practices are adhered to throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as an Android Developer with a strong understanding of Android architecture and UI/UX design principles.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, including advanced features such as Flows, extensions, and higher-order functions.
• Proven experience with Jetpack Compose and familiarity with various Jetpack libraries.
• Hands-on experience in greenfield projects, especially in rebuilding applications from scratch.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to optimize app performance effectively.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs, Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit testing, and automation frameworks.
• Background in Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM.
• Solid knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

• Design, develop, and maintain white-label Android applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Define and implement best practices for app architecture, coding standards, and development workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Lead the technical aspects of the app rebuild, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
• Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on coding, testing, and best practices.
• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.
• Integrate with backend services via RESTful APIs and ensure seamless data flow within the app.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and continuously improve development processes.
