The Position
CXSD, Customer Experience and Solution Design team at Roche Diagnostics, is looking for a passionate Interaction Designer Intern with knowledge of User Interface Design and electronics integration with physical products (e.g. Arduino/Electronics).
The CXSD (Customer Experience and Solution Design) team at Roche Diagnostics is seeking a passionate Product Designer Intern. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of Graphical User Interface Design and experience with electronics integration in physical products (e.g., Arduino/Electronics).
The Opportunity:
As an Interaction Designer Intern, you will support product design teams on different projects and design tasks. You will learn how senior designers translate business/technical requirements and user needs into design decisions. You will experience how to navigate and apply a complex design system to Graphical User Interfaces. You will grasp how to design for customer centricity by validating your design output through continuous user testing. Last but not least, you will be part of a design team of more than 80 professionals who aim to transform the healthcare industry for the better.
- Working on projects with focus on making healthcare professionals work life more safe and easy
- Building and orchestrating user experiences beyond screens; building software and Arduino prototypes
- Being involved in ideating, building, iterating and preparing user experiences until hand-over stage for engineers to integrate it in a product
- Support usability testings with planning, preparation, conducting and analyzing activities
- Learn how to involve different people from business roles to engineering to test participants and more to build the best UX ever
- Integrate electronics for human interaction and machine feedback into medium-high-ultra fidelity physical prototypes/mockups
- There will be at least one business trip to Germany
- EU/EFTA Students: You are currently enrolled in your Bachelor's studies or a Master’s program in Computer Science, UX design, Human Computer Interaction Design, visual design or technical science or similar
- Non-EU/EFTA students: Due to regulations, you have to provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory and upload it together with your application documents. Furthermore, you have to be enrolled during the entire internship period
- You have experience with Figma (showcasing a project is required)
- You have experience with Arduino and processing (showcasing a project is required)
- You have skills in design for User Experience, User Interfaces and User Interaction with hardware and software projects,
- You are fluent in English
- A Current CV and a Motivation Letter
- A certificate of enrolment (if you are currently studying).
- For Non-EU/EFTA citizens: Due to regulations, you must provide a certificate issued by your university stating that an Internship is mandatory for your studies
Target Start Date: 1 Oktober 2025
Working hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Duration: 12 months
