Your new role
As a Mobile Accessibility Subject Matter Expert, you will work alongside Agile teams to ensure the development and enhancement of accessible native mobile applications (iOS and Android). Your day-to-day responsibilities will include guiding teams through accessibility best practices, performing accessibility assessments in line with the latest standards, collaborating with cross-functional groups (developers, designers, QA, product owners), and directly coaching team members to prevent and resolve accessibility issues throughout the project lifecycle. This remote contract role runs through December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years' recent experience in native iOS and Android mobile app development (7+ years in software development preferred)
- Demonstrated expertise in accessibility testing and remediation, especially with assistive technologies such as TalkBack (Android), Switch Access (Android), VoiceOver (iOS), Voice Control (iOS), and external keyboard support
- Deep knowledge of WCAG standards (minimum 2.0 A/AA) and their application in mobile contexts
- Professional experience integrating accessibility into Agile development workflows, validating requirements using tools like Jira, and documenting findings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coach and collaborate with diverse digital product teams
- Professional certifications in accessibility from IAAP (CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or ADS) are highly valued
