The Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the Company's technology strategy, architecture, and engineering execution. As CTO, you’ll work closely with the founding team, product leaders, and investors to define and implement a secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure that supports our mission to become a category-defining derivatives exchange.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Vision

• Define and drive the long-term technology roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, particularly in blockchain, options trading infrastructure, and exchange technologies.

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and grow a world-class engineering team across backend, frontend, DevOps, and security.
• Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, scalability, and performance.
• Ensure adherence to secure coding practices, low-latency design, and regulatory tech standards.

Platform & Architecture Ownership

• Oversee the design and scalability of the trading engine, risk systems, API infrastructure, and wallet architecture.
• Ensure the performance, uptime, and security of the exchange.

Security & Compliance

• Build robust cybersecurity frameworks and incident response protocols.
• Ensure technical compliance with global regulations

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Operations, and Legal teams to deliver features rapidly without compromising system integrity.
• Present technical strategy and progress to the Board and key stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience:

• 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/CTO/VP role.
• Prior experience building crypto exchanges, trading platforms, or fintech systems is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with building options and perpetuals trading systems is a major plus.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in performance-critical backend systems (Java).
• Deep understanding of exchange infrastructure: order matching, risk engines, margin systems.
• Experience with Web3/blockchain protocols and wallet infrastructure.
• Strong cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), CI/CD, observability, and security architecture.

Leadership:

• Proven track record of leading high-performing technical teams in fast-paced startup environments.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on builder, and strategic thinker.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with institutional crypto trading clients or building B2B API trading platforms
• Familiarity with compliance and legal frameworks in crypto (e.g., VASP registration, KYC/AML systems)
• Experience scaling platforms to handle high-frequency, high-throughput trades
