Backend engineer

Salary range: Rs 1200000 - Rs 2400000 (ie INR 12-24 LPA)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Backend Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power our applications and services. You will work closely with product managers, frontend developers, DevOps, and QA teams to build reliable and performant systems that solve real-world problems for our users.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Architecture: Design scalable and maintainable backend architectures and services using modern development practices.
API Development: Build secure, performant, and scalable RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs for consumption by mobile and web applications.
Database Management: Design, implement, and optimize database schemas (SQL and/or NoSQL) for high performance and reliability.
Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Follow best practices in version control, testing, and CI/CD workflows.
Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and improve application performance and scalability.
Security & Reliability: Implement best practices for backend security and ensure system reliability through monitoring and alerting.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and QA to deliver high-quality products on time.

Required Skills & Experience

3-6 years of hands-on experience in backend development.
Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or Ruby.
Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
Experience with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.
Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
Experience in unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD).
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and containerization tools like Docker.
Understanding of cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and microservices architecture is a strong plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Exposure to message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) and event-driven architectures.
Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI).
Prior experience working in a startup or product-based company
