Position Summary:

Our partner, a well-established B2B SaaS company serving small business operators across industries, is undergoing a large-scale platform consolidation and modernization initiative. Their engineering organization has invested heavily in preparing the backend and API layers for scale and is now ready to modernize the mobile experience from scratch using React Native. This is an opportunity to help rebuild a mobile app from the ground up, no legacy code, no duct-taped refactors. This role supports that effort by delivering a net-new mobile experience designed to mirror and extend the functionality of the core web platform. The mobile app will be cleanly decoupled, with well-documented APIs and no requirement to reference legacy iOS code. The engineer will work within a cross-functional product pod and have support from backend and QA teams, while maintaining full ownership of the mobile architecture, performance, and code quality. You'll also find support for AI development tools (Cursor, Vercel AI) to accelerate testing and scaffolding without compromising maintainability.

Experience and Education:

• 4+ years of experience building mobile applications using React Native
• Background in ground-up product builds or mobile redesigns
• Prior work integrating with REST APIs and backend teams
• Familiarity with Objective-C or Swift helpful, but not required
• Exposure to AI tooling for code generation/testing (Cursor, Vercel AI, etc.)
• Experience in agile feature teams (sprint-based, tight focus areas)
• Mobile-first UX sensibility and ability to deliver performant apps

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Rebuild a mobile app from scratch using React Native
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate REST APIs
• Own architecture and implementation of core mobile features
• Deliver performant, maintainable code for both iOS and Android
• Participate in biweekly sprints focused on focused feature work
• Build reusable components and clean design patterns
• Work closely with product and QA to align user experience and functionality
• Leverage AI tools (Cursor, Vercel AI) to streamline development
• Help shape early standards for mobile coding, testing, and release
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure quality
• Troubleshoot bugs and unexpected behavior across platforms
• Share knowledge with other engineers as mobile efforts scale
• Engage with stakeholders and SMEs as needed to clarify requirements
• Stay aligned with platform architecture to ensure long-term scalability
• Participate in lightweight team ceremonies and async collaboration
