DevOps Engineer – FinTech | Hybrid (London-Based) | Permanent
Retelligence is proud to partner with a leading FinTech client that is currently seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support their agile delivery teams. About the Role:
You’ll play a key role in strengthening and refining the DevOps culture across fast-paced agile teams. Working closely with both software engineers and infrastructure professionals, your contributions will help drive improvements in build, deployment, and automation pipelines. You’ll be a hands-on contributor with a strong focus on system integration and process automation.
Core Responsibilities:
- Enhance and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment across multiple environments.
- Maintain and optimise existing Helm charts and Chef cookbooks to support scalable and repeatable infrastructure.
- Collaborate within cross-functional workstreams involving development, security, infrastructure, and database teams.
Essential Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will bring strong practical knowledge in the following areas:
- Deploying and troubleshooting applications in Kubernetes.
- Using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform (or similar alternatives) to manage cloud infrastructure.
- Building CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
- Scripting proficiency in PowerShell or Bash.
- Solid hands-on experience working in Microsoft Azure environments.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Chef, with transferable experience in Puppet or Ansible.
- Working within agile methodologies and contributing to collaborative team environments.
Desirable:
Any of the following would be beneficial but not required:
- Experience with observability tools such as DataDog.
- Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD), including frameworks for unit testing, mocking, and promoting testability.
- Linux server configuration and management.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Scripting or automation experience using Python.
