The role:

We are looking for an Automotive Android Developer for our office in VASS BRASOV, who would join a team of open-minded and personable people.

• Design, develop, and maintain features for Android Automotive OS-based infotainment systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers, hardware engineers, and QA testers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Implement scalable and maintainable solutions using Clean Architecture principles and Kotlin best practices.
• Work closely with system architects and hardware teams to integrate and optimize features interacting with the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL).
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement of development practices.
• Debug and resolve complex issues across multiple layers of the Android stack.
• Ensure code quality through automated testing and adherence to industry standards.
• Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, and documentation.
• Stay up to date with new developments in Android Automotive OS and automotive software trends.

And you?

• 3+ years of Android development experience in production environments.
• 1–2 years of experience with Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and familiarity with its APIs and system behavior.
• Advanced proficiency in Kotlin, including coroutines, Flow, and Jetpack components.
• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture, MVVM or MVI patterns, and SOLID design principles.
• Experience working with the Android HAL or similar layers in embedded or automotive projects.
• Good knowledge of system debugging tools and performance optimization techniques.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Nice-to-Have:

• Spanish language skills.
• Prior experience in automotive industry standards and safety-critical systems.
