Assistant Project Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION:
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Assistant Manager – Projects will play a pivotal role in the successful execution and
management of luxury retail fit-out and permanent fixture projects. This role is responsible
for end-to-end project coordination, account handling, subcontractor management, and
ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of projects. Working closely with the Sr. Project
Manager, the incumbent will ensure client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and alignment
with department goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Execution & Coordination:
- Manage execution of high-value retail fit out projects (AED 500k – 1M per project) with a quarterly capacity of AED 3M.
- Oversee and track project milestones, approvals, design finalization, production, and installation.
- Ensure successful delivery and on-site installation of permanent fixtures within committed timelines.
- Maintain strict documentation throughout the project lifecycle to safeguard company interests.
Client & Account Management:
- Act as the key point of contact for assigned accounts under the guidance of the Sr. Project Manager.
- Engage with clients for briefings, approvals, and feedback to ensure expectations are met.
- Handle escalations independently to avoid adverse outcomes and maintain client trust.
- Contribute to pitches and negotiations to win repeat business from existing clients.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Coordinate closely with internal teams – design, production, procurement, QC, dispatch, installations and logistics – to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Sr. Project Manager, highlighting milestones, risks, and action plans.
Subcontractor & Site Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage subcontractors for specialized works in fit out and joinery.
- Perform site visits to ensure project installation quality and adherence to requirements, safety and quality standards.
Process & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to internal processes via organized documentation, updated project folders, and project trackers.
- Enforce compliance
Financial & Commercial Oversight
- Work with estimation for accurate tender submissions based on detailed project briefs.
- Ensure timely invoice generation, proof submission, follow-up, and collection within credit terms.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of interior fit-out and joinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layout plans.
- Effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Independently handle the project and has experience on project planning and schedules
- Needs to be assertive.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma or technical education in Civil, Interiors, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in site installation or fit-out execution, preferably in luxury retail.
- Working knowledge of project/site reporting and documentation processes.
