Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in J2EE technologies to maintain, enhance, and support enterprise-level applications. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of hands-on development experience with Java, JSP, EJB, JDBC, Hibernate, and Struts frameworks. Responsibilities include full SDLC participation—ranging from requirements gathering and system analysis to implementation, testing, and documentation. Proficiency in SQL and application security practices, including OWASP top 10 and secure coding, is essential. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving and communication skills and be able to lead technical efforts, manage application versioning, and support UAT and user training. Familiarity with tools such as JReports and StarTeam version control is advantageous.
Job Responsibilities
The Software Engineer shall have the following minimum requirements:
- Well versed in the J2EE technology and programming languages and tools that are used in the existing application systems, which includes but not limited to Java, JSP, EJB, JDBC, JReports reporting tool, etc.
- Good working knowledge of Hibernate and Struts framework;
- Good working knowledge of SQL;
- Good knowledge of SDLC process;
- Knowledge in areas pertaining to application security and best practices in application development standards;
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Good communication and inter-personal skills; and
- Shall have at least THREE (3) years experience in application development in the relevant programming languages.
- Carry out system analysis.
- Conduct user requirements study where applicable.
- Design, development, testing and implementation of any enhancement required to maintain/upgrade the OCOE system.
- Responsible for the OCOE application architecture and making changes such as enhancements and bug fixing.
- Carry out application testing and support the banks in their testing when required.
- Assist users to set up the acceptance test package, and provide support in performing the UAT.
- Prepare/update all affected application documentation and manuals with assistance from the application team.
- Lead the application team in conducting user training to LTA operational/business users if applicable.
- Manage application versioning.
- Perform bug fixing that would involve resolving vulnerability flagged during quarterly web application VA scan and annual web application penetration testing.
- Working knowledge of Secure Coding and OWASP top 10
- Familiar with Starteam source code version control application would be preferred.
