Job Description

The SMT Programmer is responsible for developing and maintaining programs for SMT production equipment, ensuring efficient and accurate component placement. This role supports new product introductions, maintains component libraries, and troubleshoots a range of production equipment. The SMT Programmer works closely with engineering, production to ensure smooth and high-quality manufacturing processes.

Detailed Description

  • Create and optimize programs for SMT P&P machines
  • Program and troubleshoot additional equipment including:
    • SPI (Solder Paste Inspection)
    • AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)
    • Screen Printer
    • Reflow Oven
  • Develop and maintain component libraries and manage component locations.
  • Create work instructions and documentation for new product introductions (NPI)
  • Maintain and support the kitting process.
  • Collaborate with Engineers to ensure manufacturability and quality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming and equipment-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards and internal quality requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce defects
  • Train other team members as necessary for efficient equipment utilization
Requirements

  • Technical education in electronics, automation, or related field
  • Experience programming SMT equipment (e.g., Juki, Fuji, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SMT processes, component placement, and soldering techniques
  • Knowledge of IPC standards
  • Ability to read and interpret PCB assembly drawings and BOMs
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with CAD/CAM tools is a plus
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Estonian and/or English at a good level, (verbal and writing);
  • Russian at a communication level.
