Backend Developer (Mid/Senior)

As a Senior Backend Developer you will...

Architect and build cloud-native, scalable backend solutions using Java (Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Security) that power TeliaPlay’s key features. Lead cloud deployments by designing, implementing, and optimizing infrastructure on AWS (EKS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) while leveraging Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker to ensure a robust microservices architecture. Collaborate & innovate with cross-functional experts - DevOps, PM, and BA - to solve technical challenges, streamline CI/CD pipelines, and deliver seamless user experiences. Champion best practices by integrating security, performance optimization, and monitoring from day one, driving code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring clean, testable code. Shape APIs by crafting RESTful APIs for both internal and customer-facing platforms and building scalable integrations without compromising quality or performance.

Who We’re Looking For

Proven track record of backend development in Java. You bring a solid track record of using AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda to set up secure cloud environments. You possess hands-on expertise in Docker and container orchestration, particularly with Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS, and have experience using Helm to manage and deploy Kubernetes applications. You are familiar with microservices architectures, event-driven systems, or both, proficient with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and DevOps practices. Additionally, you have LLM experience with different models, with a bonus if you bring insights into integrating AI into backend solutions. You demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, whether discussing architecture or debugging live issues. Bonus points for prior exposure to GraphQL, Terraform/CloudFormation, or advanced monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenSearch).

Monthly salary range for this position: 3500 - 6400 EUR before tax deduction.
