Our online banking client in Boston is in search of a Product Designer (UI and Visual Design) to join their team on a temporary, contract basis. This is a hybrid role (3x per week in office) supporting various consumer-facing web-based products.
- Location: Boston (hybrid - 3x per week on-site)
Responsibilities:
- Support visual design initiatives from concept to delivery across web, mobile, tablet and app platforms
- Translate research insights, user needs and business goals into elegant, intuitive solutions
- Create design deliverables such as wireframes, journey maps, flows, prototypes and high-fidelity mockups
- Develop and maintain detailed design specifications for development teams
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation
- Act as a strong advocate for users throughout the product development lifecycle
Design Systems and Standards
- Contribute to the design system in Figma and support documentation of components and patterns
- Ensure consistency across digital touchpoints by applying best practices in visual design and accessibility
- Approach complex problems with systematic thinking and scalable design solutions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with researchers, content strategists, copywriters and developers
- Present your design solutions with clear rationale to stakeholders and executives
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members
- Contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced, and iterative design culture
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in UI, UX, interaction or digital product design
- Strong portfolio showcasing multi-platform digital design work
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Deep understanding of UX principles, accessibility and visual design
- Skilled in annotating complex interactions and working closely with development teams
- Excellent communication, presentation and time-management skills
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with a growth mindset
- Familiarity with design thinking methodologies and understanding of agile development workflows preferred
- Knowledge of conversion optimization or e-commerce design preferred
