Designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend services and RESTful APIs to support scalable web applications

Position Overview

We are seeking a proficient Backend Web Developer to build and maintain server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power modern web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with backend frameworks and languages including Java, .NET/C#, and Python, along with designing RESTful APIs and ensuring system scalability and security.

You will collaborate closely with front-end developers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver reliable backend solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development & API Design

  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services to support web and mobile applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient server-side code in Java, .NET/C#, Python, or similar languages
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices in backend systems


Database Management & Integration

  • Design and optimize database schemas and queries (SQL and NoSQL databases)
  • Integrate third-party services and APIs as needed
  • Ensure data consistency, integrity, and performance across backend systems


Collaboration & DevOps

  • Work with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to maintain code quality
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy and monitor backend services, ensuring uptime and scalability


Performance & Security

  • Optimize backend processes for speed, scalability, and reliability
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for backend systems
  • Address security vulnerabilities and apply patches proactively


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in backend development with expertise in at least one language: Java, .NET/C#, or Python
  • Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Familiarity with authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.) and security best practices
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaboration tools


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
