Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Wireless Network Engineer to manage and optimize our enterprise Wi-Fi infrastructure. The role involves administration and automation of wireless networks using Ansible, as well as conducting and analyzing wireless site surveys with Ekahau to ensure optimal coverage, capacity, and performance.

You will work closely with network, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance wireless connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

Wi-Fi Network Management

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Wi-Fi networks including access points, controllers, and management systems
  • Monitor wireless network performance and user experience, implementing improvements as necessary
  • Manage wireless security configurations and policies


Automation & Scripting

  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate Wi-Fi device provisioning, configuration, and updates
  • Integrate automation workflows with existing network management and monitoring tools
  • Create scripts to streamline wireless network operations and incident response


Site Survey & Optimization

  • Plan, conduct, and analyze wireless site surveys using Ekahau or similar tools
  • Identify coverage gaps, interference sources, and capacity bottlenecks, recommending corrective actions
  • Collaborate with facilities and IT teams for optimal wireless infrastructure deployment


Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed network documentation, including configurations, automation scripts, and site survey reports
  • Provide regular performance and capacity reports to stakeholders
  • Stay current with wireless technologies and industry best practices


Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience managing and administering enterprise Wi-Fi networks
  • Hands-on experience with wireless automation using Ansible or equivalent automation tools
  • Proficiency with wireless site survey tools, particularly Ekahau
  • Strong understanding of Wi-Fi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), RF fundamentals, and wireless security
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CWNA, CWNP, Cisco CCNA Wireless
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure including switches, controllers, and authentication servers (RADIUS)
  • Experience with cloud-managed Wi-Fi solutions (e.g., Cisco Meraki, Aruba Central)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for network automation
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance related to wireless networks
