Senior Backend Engineer (Remote EMEA or APAC)

This fully remote opportunity is ideal for experienced backend engineers eager to build secure, scalable systems that power next-gen DeFi infrastructure. You'll take ownership of robust API development, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and lead the evolution of our core architecture. Your work will directly impact how users interact with multi-chain liquidity protocols, and you'll help shape a product at the intersection of blockchain innovation and financial access. Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs that scale with increasing demand
• Architect high-performance infrastructure that balances security, speed, and maintainability
• Participate in code reviews, ensure coding standards, and foster best practices within the team
• Optimize system performance by identifying bottlenecks and enhancing algorithm efficiency
• Implement robust monitoring, debugging, and alerting tools to ensure system availability
• Write and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, end-to-end) to support reliable deployments
• Document APIs and internal systems to support knowledge sharing and onboarding
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture
• Analyze and solve complex backend problems with practical, scalable solutions
  
  
  

Requirements

• Must be located in the EMEA or APAC region
• Extensive professional experience in backend development, ideally in a senior or lead role
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript and Node.js; experience with MongoDB, Redis, and Docker
• In-depth understanding of blockchain fundamentals and the EVM ecosystem
• Proven ability to design scalable backend architectures and build production-grade systems
• Experience with GitOps, Kubernetes, AWS, and Cloudflare is highly desirable
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and a strong testing mindset
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Self-directed, proactive, and able to thrive in a fully remote team environment
• Bonus: Experience with smart contract development, Golang, or a degree in Computer Science
