AI/ML Consultant - Relocation to Brussels

We are looking for AI/ML Consultants, who wants to work for the European Institutions in Brussels.

We are looking for a senior IT consultant with at least 1 year of ML, NLP, AI experience with Python or Java in a cloud environment

Candidates need to be based in Belgium or willing to relocate to Brussels when coming from abroad.

EU candidates are welcome to apply. Work permit is not provided.

This position is also open for employees and freelancers. Candidates need to be fluent in English.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software applications in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI);
• Design and optimize machine learning systems and deep learning architectures;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into existing products and processes;
• Define and implement IT architectures for NLP, ML, and AI solutions, ensuring alignment with master and meta-data management concepts;
• Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation to enhance performance;
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies and algorithms;
• Maintain and support AI-deployed solutions on SaaS platforms such as AWS and Azure;
• Document architecture blueprints and align them with business requirements;

Profile:

• Master or Bachelor degree;
• +13 years of general IT experience.
• +1 year of experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), text embeddings, tokenization, vectorization, machine learning, and deep learning;
• +1 year of experience with of Python/Java/Containers (Docker/Kubernetes)/Cloud AI services (AWS, Azure);
• +1 year of experience in the full lifecycle of natural language processing (NLP) systems and agile software development methodologies;
• +1 year of experience in quality assurance and quality control for machine translation (MT), and experience with MT quality procedures, testing methodologies and tools, such as automatic quality metrics (BLEU scores and similar) and human evaluation of MT quality;
• Proven ability to conduct proof of concepts (PoCs) efficiently and effectively;
• Strong presentation skills for both technical and business audiences;
• High attention to quality standards and the ability to work in fast-evolving cloud-based environments;
• Strong written communication skills for technical documentation;
• Ability to actively participate in technical discussions and collaborate with diverse stakeholders;
• Fluent in English;

Desirable Certifications (one or more of the following certifications are preferred):

• AWS Certifications: AWS Certified Machine Learning, AWS Certified Data Analytics, AWS Certified Solutions Architect;
• Microsoft Certifications: Azure AI Engineer Associate, Azure Data Scientist Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert;
