Senior IT Project Manager – Payments & POS Modernization

Large Retail/Grocery client

Hybrid – Must be located in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX

We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead large-scale initiatives focused on

modernizing Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and payment ecosystems for H-E-B. This role is

responsible for driving complex projects from start to finish, coordinating cross-functional

teams, managing vendor partnerships, and ensuring successful hardware and software

rollouts.

Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional teams in the delivery of POS modernization and payment

terminal deployment projects.

• Manage project timelines, budgets, deliverables, risks, and dependencies across

multiple workstreams.

• Coordinate with internal technical teams, third-party vendors, and payment

processors to ensure seamless execution.

• Oversee store readiness plans, hardware installation schedules, and field service

coordination.

• Support EMV certification eMorts and manage compliance-driven milestones.

• Facilitate stakeholder communication, executive reporting, and project governance

activities.

• Partner closely with Business Analysts, QA, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to

drive project success.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of IT Project Management experience, including 3+ years managing POS or

Payments-related initiatives.

• Proven experience delivering payment terminal rollouts and managing vendor and

processor relationships.

• Strong knowledge of EMV, PCI compliance, and multi-acquirer routing.

• Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project,

and Smartsheet.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
