Android Developer Contract Roles

One of our clients based in London is looking for 3x Android Developers to join them on 6 month contracts (likely to extend). The role is outside IR35, fully remote working, 1 stage interview process and can pay ideally between £450-500 a day, but could potentially flex up to £550 a day for the perfect profile!

This is going to be a new project on which these engineers will be building a streaming platform from scratch, so preferably a person worked any OTT / streaming services with AndroidTV experience.

Languages: Java / Kotlin

Architecture: MVVM

Network: Retrofit, Okhttp, Protocol buffers

Dependency Injection: Dagger 2

CI/CD: Jenkins

Other: Android Jetpack, Compose, Coil, Git, ExoPlayer/Media3.

- 5+ years hands-on involvement building mobile applications within the Android environment.

- Worked on OTT/Streaming services

- Prior exposure to media playback, particularly in live or on-demand streaming via mobile.

- Strong practical experience coding with Java, Kotlin, and familiarity with AndroidTV platforms.

- Comfortable working across the full app lifecycle — from data layers and API integration to clean UI rendering.

- Confident architecting Android apps — particularly around state management, data structuring, background processing, and concurrency.

-Adept at writing modular, testable code with robust API design, unit testing, and long-term maintainability in mind.
